The last few days have been filled with more than a few errands, a not very healthy dose of coughing on all fronts and a lot of laughs. We've been to the doctor's office for their yearly checks, actually Sadie's but I always squeeze in a few concerns about the other 2. Turns out Ty is probably just like me, gets a cold and then a lingering cough that seems to linger a lot longer than it's welcome. He is being put on some asthma medication, I'll pick it up today along with my puffers. My cough has my hubby moved to the couch, my running on hold, and my spirits more than a bit dampened. I've been down this path and for me, the recovery is often a very long road of hacks and headaches. Boo!
We popped in to Old Navy for a brief minute to pick up a shirt and we left with 2 bags. There are crazy sales, like $2.50 for a t-shirt and $4 for sundresses. I picked up a bunch of things for next summer. I didn't have a stroller for Sadie and she wanted very little to do with the in-store version, so I used it to stack clothes. If I thought the other 2 had been monkeys at 2 years, I think Sades has them beat. Although, come to think of it, I would never have shopped with them out of the cart at that age, so I guess it's me that has lost her mind. Sadie ran from display to rack to basket, shrieking and pulling everything from flip-flops to panties to the thousand balls that Old Navy lines its aisles with. She pulled them all furiosly from their homes, threw her face to the sky in sheer delight and laughed....LOUDLY! Part of me was frantic, part of me in awe of such a display and the other part just wanted her occupied while I took in the very quick sale. Ty was put in charge of her and moments later I found her running wildly ...barefoot through the store with Ty in a mad dash to keep up. Great, now it's a game. Ty and Maggie set out on a search for her missing crocs and now, her missing baby, that we eventually found in the bottom of our heap of cclothes. We cleaned up and we got out, 2 bags later of very sweet dresses and duds for the girls next summer.
Yes, it's nuts doing errands with my posse, it's insane to think that any given trip will be quick and it is ludicrous to believe that my patience will remain intact. In the same breath, I marvelled at these 3. They found fun around every corner, maggie and ty in the backseat of the van. (Reminder, watch the road, mom, just because you are no longer talking on your cell does not mean I should now be distracted by the rear view mirror). The giggling was so infectious, the entire van errupted at times. Every where we went, there would be my little tail, Ty, Maggie and my baby, all 3 seperated by a head in height. The 2 big ones took turns coaxing our little destructo along and their little voices raised an octave when they talked to her. They bent over to help her along by the small of her back. Then the switch would flip and they would be a team against me. One mom with one purpose and the 3 of them with a purpose all their own. They would rile each other, laughing heartily as my patience neared it's end. My little crew, they steal my heart and at times, my last nerve.
That's so funny because my kids were putting on quite a production at Old Navy St. Vital when I was trying to shop last night! I can relate.

I love reading your blogs because it's like I wrote them myself (minus the running). You crack me up girl! Are your kids in camp? We should get them together for a swim playdate. What's next week like for you?
